Search and share your company assets without ever leaving HubSpot

With the Masset for HubSpot integration, you can quickly search and share your company assets without ever having to leave HubSpot. Your SDRs and AEs can find their content where they live, in your CRM.

Using the Masset for HubSpot integration, you can:

  1. Search for user-specific content from HubSpot Objects. Searching applies Masset’s robust permission system to ensure that users only find the content they have permission to see.
  2. Share assets to Contacts, Companies or Deals directly from search results.
  3. Track consumption of assets from Masset without interrupting your workflow.
  4. Answer objections by knowing what content is the right fit for your prospects.
  5. Get notified when prospects view, download, or open your content.
  6. Understand what content is driving success. Since content is tied to HubSpot, you can know what pieces of content led to closed revenue, not just what was sent.

Supported entities

Masset currently supports direct integration with Contacts, Companies, and Deals. Additional support for Tickets is currently on the roadmap for future implementation.

HubSpot features

In its current state, the Masset for HubSpot Integration supports two primary workflows.

When used inside of HubSpot, users can search their company assets that they have access to inside of Masset. If results are found for a given search term, the user is provided the opportunity to share the resulting asset to their prospect. When an asset is shared, the currently displayed HubSpot Object is associated with the share. When a share is opened, shared, or downloaded, the association is used to tie actions back to the originating CRM Object. Masset will record these activities to the associated Timeline.

When used inside of Masset, the HubSpot integration provides users the ability to create shares directly from inside of Masset. It also provides Admin users the ability to aggregate metrics correlated to the type of CRM association.

Based on user feedback, Masset expects to expand the HubSpot Integration functionality. As new functionality becomes available, Masset will notify all existing users of changes. Regardless of added functionality, permissions established inside of Masset will always apply to asset access through HubSpot.

Installation

The easiest way to install the HubSpot Integration is to install it directly from the HubSpot Marketplace or from the Masset Profile > Integrations page if you are a Masset Admin. In order for the integration to install correctly, the installer must be an Admin in both Masset and HubSpot.

Once installed, users of the integration will be required to associate their HubSpot account with their Masset accounts. This ensures that proper access to assets is maintained as employees search for assets in HubSpot and Masset.

What Masset data is shared with HubSpot?

When using the integration, the majority of Masset data never leaves the Masset system.

In order to visually display search results in HubSpot, the integration will include the following pieces of information in the HubSpot UI extension:

  1. The user-provided name of an asset
  2. The user-provided description of an asset
  3. A system-generated 256x256 preview image of an asset
  4. System-generated questions that the content result might answer

The raw asset itself is never uploaded or shared to HubSpot directly, only the search result. All links and downloads are routed through the Masset system to ensure that privacy and access controls are maintained.

What HubSpot data does Masset have access to?

Masset only consumes the following HubSpot data:

  1. Contact object id, first name and last name
  2. Company object id and name
  3. Deal object id and name

Outside of these pieces of data, Masset does not access any other HubSpot information. The consumption of this data is used solely for the purpose of responding to transactional, user-driven requests.

Can I limit the HubSpot data Masset accesses?

Yes! In order to operate, the Masset integration must have read permission on each of the designated HubSpot Objects: Contacts, Companies, and Deals. These are required in order to be displayed in the HubSpot UI.

However, you can limit the bidirectional synchronization of data between Masset and HubSpot by reaching out to support@getmasset.com. Our support team will help determine what pieces of data you do and do not want synchronized. Because disabling synchronization negatively impacts usability for your users, we only recommend it for companies that have stringent data privacy concerns.

Does the HubSpot integration use any sub-processors?

The HubSpot Integration does not currently use or require any additional sub-processors beyond the default set used by the Masset platform. We understand and respect the concerns that companies have about allowing third-party sub-processors access to your data.

Based on customer feedback, the scope of the HubSpot Integration may expand over time. For example, many customers have requested the ability to use conversational language to search for assets. Our goal is always to build such features internally without sub-processors. However, if Masset introduces functionality requiring sub-processors, these features will be explicitly opt-in for all Masset customers to ensure that data is protected.

Does the HubSpot integration use my data for AI training?

Nope! The Masset for HubSpot Integration is meant to make sharing of your company assets as easy as possible. It does not use AI, LLMs, or any other machine learning to accomplish that goal.
